More like 3.5 stars. Liked:* Mercy wasn't immediately better after facing a traumatic even in the last book. She is still healing and recovering.* Despite needing her own healing, Mercy still sticks up for the weak. She's awesome that way.* Mercy learns a little more about her powers.* Stefan is a great character and I really enjoyed reading more about him.Liked Less:* The plot had a lot more to do with vampire politics than I thought from the blurb. Thus, I wasn't as engaged with the book as with previous ones.* The two parts of the story were kind of disconnected for me. It left things feeling a bit scattered.Overall, a solid installment in a great series even though it didn't have the wow factor of previous books.
